Fire Exit Theatre announces AUDTIONS FOR "A Number" by Caryl Churchill
- Posted by val@fireexit.ca on September 25th, 2011
directed by Barrett Hileman
Ben Brantley in the New York Times says, " 'A Number' strikes sharp and reverberant chords of implications about the ways people rationalize bad behavior and unthinkingly objectify others, including their own flesh and blood." Caryl Churchill's spare dialogue explores the potential consequences of cloning, nature vs. nurture, and the always timely issue of personal culpability.
A play for two men:
Salter, a man in his early sixties.
Bernard (and others), 35-40 years old.
Please come prepared with a SHORT, contemporary monologue. Actors may also be asked to do a cold read.
Rehearsal schedule to fit the needs of the cast (likely evening and weekends).
Performances are Nov. 23-27 at the Engineered Air Theatre at Calgary's Epcor Centre.
THURSDAY SEPT 29 6:30-9:30 p.m.
at ALBERTA BIBLE COLLEGE 635 Northmount Dr. NW
Contact Val Lieske to set up an audition time. val@fireexit.ca
