Deadline for Travel Alberta 2009 Summer Events Guide is January 9

travel_albertaEnter your events now for Travel Alberta’s 2009 Summer Events Guide. The deadline for entering your events into the Tourism Information System (TIS) database is Friday, January 9, 2009.

Travel Alberta In-Province is producing a Summer Events Guide available to Alberta residents. Distribution is through the Travel Alberta website, 1-800-ALBERTA call centre and VICs, and Alberta’s daily newspapers.

The guide will include consumer events across Alberta taking place May 1, 2009 to October 31, 2009.  read more »

I Heart Alberta Arts! (and Royalties!)

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Imagine my surprise watching Canada's World Junior triumph earlier this evening... only to see something that started as "I (Heart) Calgary Arts" turn into "I (Heart) Alberta Arts" staring at me from the rink board advertising at one of the most-watched sporting events this year in Canada!

 

Minister Blackett... I applaud your surprise marketing tactics... for SURE that ad was noticed. But... we'll have to talk about some royalties for Calgary (ahem, from 2007, I present the brainchild of our own Erica Mattson, with design from Janine Vangool):
