Operating Grant

Eligibility

The Operating Grant Program is open to organizations that:  read more »

  • operate under an arts mandate*
  • are currently registered as a non-profit organization / corporation / society in the Province of Alberta
  • have been in operation for one full year
  • maintain operations throughout the whole or majority of the year
  • are located within the City of Calgary
  • maintain a majority of activities that support Calgary artists and/or are accessible to Calgary citizens

If you are a returning applicant: you can access your organization’s account by entering your UserID and Password. If you forget your password click on the “Forgot Your Password? Click Here” button. Your UserID is the email address of the individual who applied on behalf of your organization in 2009. If you have recently changed your granting contact or forget your UserID and require it to be up-dated, please contact Lauren Simms by phone at 403-264-5330 ext. 108 or by email at lauren.simms@calgaryartsdevelopment.com. She will help you update your account. Do not create a new account. You will not have access to your application history if a new account is created.   read more »

Operating Grant Appeals Policy

Calgary Arts Development intends its granting process to be open, fair and transparent. In the event where a case can be made that an assessment panel has misunderstood an application or where due process was not followed, Calgary Arts Development offers an opportunity for applications to be re-considered through an appeals process.

Grant Assessment

Calgary Arts Development's arms length Grants Assessors make recommendations for the disbursement of operating and other granting funds to Calgary Arts Development staff, who in turn provide these recommendations to the Calgary Arts Development Board of Directors. In making recommendations, assessors follow an assessment process that considers established criteria for each assessed grant program.

Apply for an Operating Grant

The Operating Grant Program invests annually in non-profit organizations with year-round operations driven by an arts mandate, with priority given to organizations that demonstrate high artistic and public impact while maintaining sound operations. Organizations may allocate these funds to any area of their overall budget. The goal of the Operating Grant Program is to ensure that Calgary arts organizations have the opportunity to flourish in an environment with a stable base of resources.This program invests in the regular operations of non-profit arts organizations in Calgary.
